At the YMCA, we believe everyone should learn to swim. It's a great way to stay in shape, learn water safety, and develop a lifetime of fun activities. The Y offers Swim Lessons to children ages 6 months and older and for all ability levels. During swim lessons, everyone will learn the fundamentals of swimming and safety around the water. They will progressively build on their swimming skills by starting with a foundation of water safety and confidence before expanding specific swim skills, like strokes. Volunteers assist in swim lessons and are trained to work with children, build skills, and encourage character development. Volunteers will complete all required credentials before reporting to their first day of service.
