YMCA of Greenville Association Services
YMCA Achievers is a leadership and career exploration program that helps students discover their potential and build a clear path for their future. Through mentorship, real career exposure, and leadership development, students gain the confidence, skills, and support system they need to succeed in college, careers, and life. By the time students graduate from the Achievers program, they leave with a plan, professional connections, and the belief that they can achieve more than they imagined. We are looking for Committed adult volunteers to serve as mentors. Upholding the YMCA mission and values, creating safe and welcoming space for youth. Volunteers will be given topics and resources to share and cover with students. They will also be invited to share their personal experiences as it relates to college, career, and leadership development.
The YMCA Achievers Program has three main goals. - College & Career Exploration Youth will develop awareness of diverse career pathways and postsecondary education options - Leadership Development Youth will gain confidence, strengthen public speaking, and practice leadership in group settings - Personal Growth & Advocacy Youth will develop self-awareness, values-based leadership, and a sense of purpose.
